Dream Experience

Every Young Carer deserves a day that’s all about them.

Our Dream Experience program gives Young Carers the opportunity to enjoy a special experience created just for them. It’s our way of recognising everything they do to support the people they love—and giving them the chance to feel celebrated, make lasting memories and live out one of their dreams.

A Dream Experience could mean meeting a sporting idol, enjoying a weekend by the beach, attending a concert or musical, seeing a movie in Gold Class, visiting a wildlife park, or something completely unique to the Young Carer.

We are currently accepting expressions of interest from Young Carers living in Victoria. To be eligible for a Dream Experience, you must first submit an Application for Support with Little Dreamers.

Dream Guidelines

To be eligible for a Dream Experience:

You must be aged 4 to 25, live in Victoria and provide care for a family member affected by disability, illness or addiction.
If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Dream Experiences cannot include interstate or international travel, trips to the snow, financial assistance or requests for physical items.

Every Dream Experience is unique, and some may take more than 12 months to plan and arrange. Our Dream Experience Coordinator, Bec, will be in touch when planning for your experience begins.

Jack’s Dream Experience

At 10 years old, Jack helps care for his younger sister, who has Xia-Gibbs syndrome—a rare genetic condition that can affect muscle strength, learning and development. A devoted and caring big brother, Jack deserved a very special Dream Experience that was all about celebrating him.

With the support of Surf Trax Phillip Island, Jack’s dream of learning to surf became a reality. Jack and his dad enjoyed an all-inclusive two-night stay on Phillip Island, complete with surfing lessons, stand-up paddleboarding—with a dog!—a guided bike tour and a gourmet breakfast each morning.

Seeing the joy on Isabelle’s face when the concert started will stay with me forever. The pure joy on her face was priceless! She felt so special at the Crowne Plaza, everyone made us feel so welcome. I know Isabelle will never forget this experience and why she received it. Thank you Little Dreamers!

Thank you so very much to all the wonderful people at Little Dreamers. You allowed my son to have a great day, a thrilling, exciting, exhausting experience and adventure. A week on and he is still buzzing about his aerobatic joy flight in a vintage Tiger Moth plane over the Great Ocean Road.

Just wanted to say thank you so so much for Josh’s dream experience. You made it all so easy and he had an an amazing time. The zoo sleepover was fantastic, the staff were wonderful. The best bit was the joy he got from realising that it was all thanks to him that his family got to enjoy it.

Riley was so excited to receive his Dream and he felt so special. He thoroughly enjoyed every second and for once something was just about him and he didn’t have it ruined by cancer. He was very grateful and didn’t want the day to end!

The Summer House is truly amazing. Maggie told me last night she has never felt so happy. We really don’t know how to thank you!

Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined having such as experience. He certainly felt privileged, and much appreciative of this experience. For a ‘moody teen’ who doesn’t say much – he has not stopped talking about it today!!

Sam told me he had the best day of his life and there is nothing that could have made it any better! The Little Dreamers staff, the team, and all associated were so kind, patient and supportive of him and gave him a truly wonderful experience that he will remember forever.

The experience was absolutely unbelievable and Ethan felt validated, appreciated and exceptionally special. He loved every second of it, and we are so very appreciative for all of the hard work involved in making it happen!
