Dream Experience

Our Dream Experience program enables Young Carers to live out their Dream for the day! The program recognises Young Carers for the hard work they put in everyday, by creating bespoke experiences especially for them. It’s an acknowledgement of all the amazing work they do to support their loved ones, and the chance to have a special day that is truly all about them.

Dream Experiences are an opportunity to meet your sporting idol, enjoy a weekend getaway by the beach or in the city, attend a concert or musical, experience the luxury of a Gold Class movie, take a trip to a Wildlife Park, and more!

From December 6 2023, we will only be taking expressions of interest from Young Carers located in Victoria. To be eligible for a Dream Experience, Young Carers must have submitted an Application for Support with Little Dreamers. Click below to apply for support.

Dream Guidelines

We accept applications for young people aged between 4-25 who provide care for a family member affected by disability, illness or addiction and are located in Victoria.
All Dream recipients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Unfortunately we do not provide any interstate or international travel, or Dream Experiences to the snow.
Items and financial assistance cannot be granted as a Dream.

Please be advised that some Dream Experiences can take over 12 months. Our Dream Experience Coordinator, Bec, will be in touch when she starts planning!

Jack’s Dream Experience

Jack is 10 years old and helps to provide care for his little sister who has Xia-Gibbs Syndrome, a disorder characterised by weak muscles, intellectual disabilities and delayed development. Jack is an incredibly adoring and caring big brother and deserved an amazing Dream Experience to celebrate him!

With the help of Surf Trax Philip Island, Jack lived out his Dream of learning to surf! Jack and his dad experienced an all inclusive two-night stay in Philip Island, where they received surfing lessons, had a go at stand up paddle-boarding (with a dog!), went on a bike tour and enjoyed a gourmet breakfast each morning!

Seeing the joy on Isabelle’s face when the concert started will stay with me forever. The pure joy on her face was priceless! She felt so special at the Crowne Plaza, everyone made us feel so welcome. I know Isabelle will never forget this experience and why she received it. Thank you Little Dreamers!

Thank you so very much to all the wonderful people at Little Dreamers. You allowed my son to have a great day, a thrilling, exciting, exhausting experience and adventure. A week on and he is still buzzing about his aerobatic joy flight in a vintage Tiger Moth plane over the Great Ocean Road.

Just wanted to say thank you so so much for Josh’s dream experience. You made it all so easy and he had an an amazing time. The zoo sleepover was fantastic, the staff were wonderful. The best bit was the joy he got from realising that it was all thanks to him that his family got to enjoy it.

Riley was so excited to receive his Dream and he felt so special. He thoroughly enjoyed every second and for once something was just about him and he didn’t have it ruined by cancer. He was very grateful and didn’t want the day to end!

The Summer House is truly amazing. Maggie told me last night she has never felt so happy. We really don’t know how to thank you!

Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined having such as experience. He certainly felt privileged, and much appreciative of this experience. For a ‘moody teen’ who doesn’t say much – he has not stopped talking about it today!!

Sam told me he had the best day of his life and there is nothing that could have made it any better! The Little Dreamers staff, the team, and all associated were so kind, patient and supportive of him and gave him a truly wonderful experience that he will remember forever.

The experience was absolutely unbelievable and Ethan felt validated, appreciated and exceptionally special. He loved every second of it, and we are so very appreciative for all of the hard work involved in making it happen!
